WHAT IS THE HARI ?

HARI is a highly refined form of Traditional Japanese Meridian Therapy (Keiraku-chiryo). Meridian Therapy focuses on treating the root cause of disease while also effectively treating the immediate symptoms through balancing the body's Ki.  Practitioners of this style have developed an extraordinary ability to perceive ki through the practice of ki diagnosis, pulse diagnosis and delicate needle techniques. Mind/Body posture is also stressed as an integral aspect to be mastered by the practitioner. The theoretical foundations of Hari are derived directly from the Chinese and Japanese Medical Classics, in particular, the Su Wen, Ling Shu, and Nan Jing. Every theory used in Hari practice has been tested and validated through extensive clinical practice and training.
The diagnostic process in Hari pays special attention to ki in the meridian relationships, the 5 phases, yin-yang and the four diagnoses.
Hari style ki diagnosis centers on feedback from the pulse to monitor the ki of the client before, during and after treatment. Students train their fingers to recognize subtle changes in the patient's energetic system and then choose the most effective technique to harmonize and improve his or her overall condition and local symptoms.
Treatment centers on supplementing the primary deficiency pattern and balancing the distribution and circulation of ki in the meridian system. To accomplish this, the practitioner employs a delicate technique (usually non-insertive) using fine gold or silver needles. To address Jaki (evil ki) in the body.  Students are trained to determine the location and quality of the disturbance and use the appropriate dispersion technique.
Hari is a pragmatic, intuitive approach to the practice of acupuncture.
