The Hari Society

Aid to learning

 

Whereas : the mission of the Hari Society, hereafter called the « Society », is to promote the Hari style of Japanese Acupuncture Medicine arts as taught by Takayuki Koei Kuwahara (1956-present), instructor of the Hari Society, Massachusetts, USA, and his successors;

Whereas: The territory of operations of the Society covers whole world;

Whereas: It is not always possible for members to attend Society’s seminars due to economical and geographical constraints;

It is adopted: the following policy to aid branch to organize seminars and instructors to attend such seminars by giving some monetary aid based on the distance between branches.

 

1. Admissibility

1.1 Instructor

An instructor in good standing with the Society may receive aid if his branch is also in good standing with the Society. Master, principal and associate instructors may request aid.

1.2 Branch

The branch where an official seminar is held may request aid if it is in good standing with the Society.

1.3 Frequency

Aid will be given only one time per financial year to a branch or one of its instructors.

1.4 Beneficiary

Aid is provided only to the instructor who attended the seminar or to the branch where the seminar has been held.

 

2. Amount

2.1 Basis

For an instructor, aid is based on the distance between the branch where this instructor teach the majority of its time and the branch where the seminar is held. For a branch where a seminar is held, aid is based on the distance between this branch and the branch whose invited instructor teach the majority of its time.

2.2 Distance

Distance is computed according to the geographical coordinates as given by the « Google Earth » service.

2.3 Formula

The aid consist of an amount of Canadian money computed according to the following formula.

Amount = Log10 (D+10) x Root (D) 

D is the distance in kilometers between the two points. The value is rounded to the nearest dollar.

2.4 Independency

The amount paid is independent of any other considerations.

 

3. Payment

3.1 Request

The amount will be paid by the secretary treasurer under the condition that aid has been requested by email to him at least two weeks before the date the seminar is to be held.

3.2 Confirmation

The secretary treasurer will confirm that the request is accepted with the amount allowed or refused.

3.3 Delay

The payment will be made only after validation of the participation of the instructor to the event.

 

4. Admissibility

4.1 Instructor

In order for a seminar to be official it is mandatory that the instructor teaching at the seminar be the Technical director or an instructor whose title is Shihan or Shidoin.

4.2 Approbation

Approval by the Technical director is mandatory in order that a seminar is declared official. The secretary treasurer must have confirmed the event to the principal instructor of the dojo hosting the event.
