CLASS (1) Introduction and review of syllabus. History, theory and principles of treating children; DVD/ Tanioka sensei Demo. treatments of the Shonihari
CLASS (2) How to find points (area) to treat, determine appropriate level of stimulation and monitor changes Treatment tools and how to use them; Taishi-hari (non-insertive three-edge–needle/Sanryoshin) Practice local tx. Touch Dx. on the surface of the Skin and Tapping the head of the Taishi-hari
CLASS (3) Treatment tools and how to use them con’t; Jaku-san (non-insertive Sanryoshin for blood stasis) Practice local treatment with Taishi-hari and Jaku-san.
CLASS (4) Four constitutional types and Five Phase diagnosis: classifying symptomology through the four examinations Special focus on pulses, abdomen and assessing visible changes. Practice root treatment diagnosis and treatment (tonification) with Teishin.
CLASS (5) Focus on five phase pattern based on comparative pulse dx and pulse quality Practice root treatment diagnosis and treatment (tonification and dispersion) with Teishin.
CLASS (6) Brief information of other approaches (tools and techniques) that are specific to the Supplementary Treatment System: EV tx., press spheres, tiger warmers, warming moxa, direct/indirect moxa, press tacks, intradermals, bloodletting, and cupping and “home treatment” How to relate to the child. Methods to stop their crying. Advising parents regarding suggestions: how to approach children, short overview of advised diets Practice root and local treatment with Taishi-hari, Jaku-san, Teishin and or other tools.
CLASS (7) Treatment of common pathologies: "Kanmushisho", indigestion, vomiting, colic and dyspepsia, diarrhea, constipation, nasal catarrh, allergies, chronic rhinitis, asthma, tonsillitis, ear infections, mumps, bedwetting, stuttering, weakened immune system, weak constitution and "failure to thrive" syndrome, eczema; urticarial, Set up treatment room for Shonihari, cautions and contraindications Practice whole Shonihari
